My Kickstarter is ALIVE! And a very special Hotel Flamingo sneaky peek
Exciting is not the word... TERRIFYING is more like it!
I just pressed launch on my Kickstarter campaign for a new children’s book, The Little Shop of Magic. As with all Kickstarters, it only gets made if we reach the total, so while I’m super excited to have it running, it’s also a strangely terrifying thing to do. Unlike traditional publishing, where the books go into shops and kind and wonderful booksellers promote and sell them, this one is all down to me. So please, if you can, please do get involved and share it with the world!
On the Kickstarter page there’s loads more info, as well as a video of me reading the first chapter so you’ll get a good idea of the book. It’s fun, silly, and there are lots of great new characters to meet. Oh, and troll bogies: the tastiest delicacy known to the Magical Folk.
I’ll keep you updated as the month progresses – there’s only thirty days to get it funded, so I will be pushing it all over the shop. Fingers crossed!
And on another note, the Frankfurt Book Fair has been running over the past week and my publisher has been out there promoting a new Hotel Flamingo!
I have vaguely hinted at it before, and I’ll write about it properly in due course, but for now here is a photo of the new cover, blown up large at the book fair. To say I’m excited would be a MASSIVE understatement. :)

Congratulations on the Kickstarter. I've backed it for my 8 year-old niece.
On the rewards, it doesn't state that the 'Name in the Book' reward comes with your name in the book, although it does for the next reward up. I don't know if it's possible to change it, now that people have pledged to the reward, but just wanted to give you the heads up.
