It’s been a lot of work and required an awful lot of head scratching and learning new things, but my Kickstarter campaign for LITTLE SHOP OF MAGIC is now at the pre-launch stage! This means you can follow that link to the page and sign up to be notified when the campaign goes fully live in the coming week or so. Please do if you’re interested on getting a heads-up!
I’m really excited about this, not simply because it’s a new book of mine, but because it’s proved to be a real challenge to manage everything from concept to laying out. Designing the cover and logo, drawing the cover, picking the text font, choosing what to illustrate… it’s exhausting! But I’m so pleased with the result. I’m also really excited about the extras I’ve prepared.
First up, there will be the chance to get your name printed in the Acknowledgements section the book. We’re nothing without our readers, so it’ll be a really wonderful thing to include people’s names inside. Most importantly, however, there’s going to be a super special, limited edition (of 100!) Hotel Flamingo art print included in one of the bundles. I can’t wait to show you the finished piece, and if you are interested in this, do sign up to the Kickstarter page so that I can inform you of the launch straight away – there will only be 100 of the prints!
I’ve really loved drawing Anna and the team again, which is good because I may be drawing an awful lot of them again very soon… (Cryptic sentence, I apologise, but I don’t know what I can say currently, other than Hotel Flamingo fans stay tuned!)
I may also have some great extras up my sleeve if we hit our target, so I’ll share those later on.
Obviously, so much has been done already to get the Kickstarter campaign to this point, but it’s pretty clear the hard work starts now. I’ve tried to keep the costs down, and the book’s print quality will stand up well next to all my other titles, so it will be a book to cherish. It will even have foil on the cover!
So, I’ll try not to spam you all about it too much, but for the coming month I will be shouting a lot about it.
For now though, I may need to go have a lie down before the real fun begins!
Enjoy the well-deserved lie down!
Spam everyone all of the time! Little Shop of Magic is so exciting, I cannot wait to see it in print.
